What is a County Clerk? According to Encarta World English Dictionary, “County Clerk is an official who is responsible for county records: a local government official who keeps records and maintains documents for a county and its residents”.
These records are open to the public and provide valuable information regarding ownership of all property located in the county. It also keeps records from the Commissioners Court, County Court, County Courts at Law, and any records filed by the general public. The fee to file documents are regulated by the Legislature.
