There's Something About Mary!

Not only born in Texas, I am also a lifelong resident of Tarrant County. I have been married to John DeSantiago for 31 years and I am proud to say that he served our country in the U.S. Army. He, too, has strong roots in Tarrant County. His family has been established in Fort Worth for almost a century. We are also proud parents of two successful grown children, which leaves me the time to fully concentrate on bettering the Tarrant County Clerk’s Office and recognizing its needs.

What Experience Does Mary Have?

As the Court Clerk with the Justice of the Peace 1 , I am responsible for the issuance of citations, setting letters, peace bonds, property hearings, and hot checks. I also perform complex varied duties such as, classifying, consolidating, sorting, filing, preparing and setting court dockets. I use my customer service skills by routinely answering customer questions and providing case information to attorneys and the public. The conducting of research of various reports for legal documents is one of my many duties required by the department manager. I also assist the judge in the courtroom and enter data as trials are being conducted to facilitate efficiency of docket management.

As the Rehabilitation Technician for the City of Fort Worth, I was directly dealing with the budget and was tasked with determining how to stretch the budget to its maximum. The experience of extending a set budget while being conservative was a valuable skill set that I plan to bring to the Tarrant County Clerk’s Office.

During my 4 years at the Constable’s Office in the Tarrant County Court House, I processed all civil and criminal documents assigned and served to the Constable Deputies. This experience has given me the behind-the-scenes knowledge of the processes that touch your personal documents every day.

While working as the Clerk Associate for the Tarrant County Clerk’s Office, I in-took all case filings as well as any documents that you desired to make public. I also collected the tax revenue that was brought in by yourself, the tax payer.

The experience I received actually working within the office for which I am running has given me firsthand knowledge of the inner-workings of this office. I have gained a direct insight on what needs to change, what is currently running smoothly, and cannot wait to take action for you.
